In the heart of the ‘Ixelles Kerkhof’ student neighbourhood, near the VUB-ULC campus, the Spring Gardens project is emerging. Not only the 15 prestigious flats (ranging from studios to 3-bedroom flats), but also the 171 student homes spread over 3 student residences are the core of this luxurious new-build development. In addition, this project consists of the renovation of 4 single-family houses, the construction of 1 new single-family house and a commercial unit.
From the sustainability point of view, the aim is to achieve a nearly zero energy performance. To comply with these qualitative standards for sustainable construction, we guide the design teams in the integration of geothermal energy, heat pumps, solar panels and soil remediation. The reuse of bricks links to circular construction.
Anthony De Wit (Managing Partner Crown Estates): “Having a third party as Bopro on our side gives us a second opinion on the multiple decisions to be made in a real estate development. Bopro provides us with a clear view on the technical choices and the budget and planning impact which our decisions can have.”
