Located at Blue Gate Antwerp, BGAB is developing a stacked industrial building for distribution, manufacturing and research & development. The building is designed for small and large companies with an essential link to the city. Scale-ups will have the opportunity to grow there without investing in their own infrastructure.

The building consists of two volumes connected by a logistics court with a central drive ramp and lift for vertical transport to the second ground level. Cargo traffic is safely separated from smooth road users. At the heads of the building are two office volumes that support the functions of the halls.

The building is aiming to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding New Construction certificate.

The building was elaborated in BIM to thoroughly investigate and test this new typology with all the experts. Comfort was explored early on through thermodynamic studies. Materials are selected for their sustainability, especially their robustness, circularity and low environmental impact (embodied carbon) based on a Life Cycle Assessment. Technologies are designed to be economical and flexible. The remaining energy demand is maximally met by the 5MWp of solar panels.
