The building, with a total office area of 9,000 sqm across 9 floors, takes full advantage of its actual building line and the compensation potential, while providing the lowest possible carbon footprint.
It is evident that occupation detection, energy monitoring and water management - just to name a couple - allow tenants full control of buildings that respect the people inside the building and the environment of which they have become a part of. ‘The Precedent’, for instance, is passive compliant (EPB Brussels 2015), will be ‘OUTSTANDING’ BREEAM certified and will also be WELL-ready.
To keep the CO2 balance as low as possible, the client has chosen to recover as much as possible from the existing building and to build the new parts in wood. In the design and the selection of materials, as many as possible principles of the Circular Economy will be implemented.
